Tofu Jerky

  • 1 lb Firm Tofu

  • 1 Tbs Tomato Paste

  • 1 tsp soy sauce

  • 1/2 tsp cumin

  • 1/2 Paprika

  • 2 tsp brown sugar

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/4 chili powder

  • 1 tbs water

Pre-heat oven to 225 and prepare parchment paper or cooking silicon sheet. Remove the tofu out of the package and wrap in a paper towel, to absorb moisture and place a weighted object to apply pressure for the excess moisture to absorb through the towels. Cut into 1/2 inch strips, or as even as you can to ensure jerky comes out evenly. Place tofu strips on baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes, remove from oven and brush glaze of spices over the tofu strips, bake another 30 minutes. After 30 minutes remove from oven, flip over strips, and reglaze bake for another hour. Remove from oven let cool. Enjoy!
